Find out more about a novel insect trap

We’ve been approached by Natural Resources Institute, Greenwich who have been working a novel type of insect trap which may have applications for whiteflies.  It works by analysing the wing beat of insects as they enter the trap, and the aim is for it to make automatic detections which could alert growers.

They have invited interested growers to a demo and workshop on 13th February 2025 at the Medway campus in Chatham.  The proposed agenda is:

 Arrival/coffee: 10:10-30am

  • Presentation of project: 10:30-11:30am

  • Smart trap demonstration: 11:40-12:30am

  • Lunch/networking: 12:30-1:30pm

  • Roundtable discussions: 1:30-3:30pm

If you would like to attend or find out more, please contact Dr Phil Morley at the BTGA who can put you in touch with the event organisers.
