UK Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV) Working Group

The UK ToBRFV Working Group was formed in 2020 to provide a focal point for discussion and information dissemination to UK Tomato growers about the virus. The group also helps direct the most relevant research and policy to manage the virus.

The group, which meets monthly, was established and chaired by TGA Technical Officer Dr Phil Morley and has, within its’ membership, representatives from DEFRA, Plant Health and Seeds Inspectorate (PHSI), Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), FERA Science, ADAS as well as representatives from those UK grower businesses who have experienced the pathogen first hand, providing advice and assistance as well as helping direct research and policy issues regarding this important plant pathogen. We also have international links with scientists and seed houses and associated organisations who are, from time to time, invited to update the working group on current global science and policy issues relating to ToBRFV.

Information and guidance generated by the Working group can be accessed via the FERA portal, which also has a link to the archived information from our original AHDB portal.

If you require any further information or are interested in being involved with the group, please contact Phil Morley at the BTGA.
